I do believe a national anthem remix would be the thing in about 10 years from now, but that’s just an opinion. We’re trying some experiments here, please do check and leave an opinion behind.

Jay Leno talks!

To be honest I had forgotten a few words of the Indian Anthem – and I realised that when singing it in the VBM on the weekend! :O I felt a little guilty…but then not having heard it for almost 6 years can take a toll.
A remix..?! Hmm… I’m sure there should have been one by now, like the Vande Maatram remix by ARR. And I liked the ARR version and Jay Sean too! 🙂

its not a song, its a sound, a calling. i cant help feeling it when i hear the national anthem complete attention, and that is it.

Hope it is not a way towards a ‘Nations Anth'[end]

i think the statement that ‘in this day of fading geographical boundaries, maybe there is no space for patriotism’ is not true. in america people hang the national flag outside their houses. so what does that indicate? would the same be welcome/encouraged in our country.
i think schools should start the day by asking the kids to sing the national anthem, after a prayer. most of us, the 70’s kids grew up in such a environment and it was a nice way of knowing the anthem.

Most schools do make the kids sing the national anthem everyday. And I confess, very ashamedly, that recently I too had forgotten the words until my kids corrected me!!!!

hmmm..remix version..nahhhhh!!!!

Thankfully, I have never forgotten the National Anthem. It looks sad when it is forced though. Like making people stand before the movie starts and people not really standing at will.
Jai Hind rocks by the way.

arunima: yup agree…

HA! so I’m not the only one who’s forgotten the words to the national anthem! .. to think some people made me out to be some sort of bludy desh drohi!
national anthem remix – don’t think it’ll work Manu boy. A remix’s gotta have a video to go along with it .. with girls in chota-chota kapda and all that – don’t see how we’d be able to throw that very essential ingredient into Jana gana mana!

Rock is in for people like us..in their twenties…otherwise think National Anthem in hip hop!
An eminem rendering ? Aiyoh rama ..may my ears never have to be violated with that!
