  • Vir review

    Read this, and come back.

I sit in the darkened hall, hoping this ordeal will be over soon. Vir is droning on. I am surprised that he expects this kind of drivel to be accepted by any audience, let alone appreciated. It seems to be a creation from some other era, when talking down to a dumb audience was the way to be, and everything would be lapped up, just because a star was articulating it.

These are times when intelligent content is supposedly the mantra, this is the age where the audience has learned of its power, and discovered means of expressing it. And yet, occasionally we do see Vir like stuff coming out, as though the ancient contents of the draft folder mistakenly got published. I’m sure they sold the tube rights first and will be guaranteed good TRPs, more so because the guys online who believe in representing themselves are sure to diss it. You know, content very seriously and self righteously done, but so bad and outdated, that consuming it becomes fun.

Oh, its over. The lights have come on. Damn, its not Vir, its Veer, at least, so say the end credits. But then, what’s in a name, eh? Though I do get irritated when someone spells my pseudonym wrong.

until next time, some really sanguineous stuff here 😉

The blog’s editorial policy (ahem, we have one) ensures that tags are taken up only in the rarest of rare cases. One is when the tagger is someone who can’t be refused, and the second is when the subject is so compelling that it deserves a post. The relationship of the latter with ego massages, is a part of the above mentioned editorial policy that shall not be discussed. 🙂

So, I was conferred the Brillante Blog award by two bloggers who are very dear to me, and who I hold in very high regard. First, by Phatichar, and then by Ideasmith. And just as I began writing this post, Suma left me a message. Somebody likes my 55s! 😀

For those who came in late, this tag is an attempt to discover and connect to more blogs, and as part of this I have to write a post and display this award, and finally tag 7 blogs which appeal to me in content or design.  And so, without further ado, here are my seven wonders

A vividness that that knows no ends
    A subtlety that transcends
An eye for detail that’s a gift from the maker
There’s no one quite like Austere seeker

The name could actually be a misnomer
For she has a never ending supply of humour
But then the sarcasm plays a hand
And we get Cynic in Wonderland

    Life and Other Such Nonsense
    The title does sound intense
    LOL, that phrase would summarise
The hilarious and addictive Tys on Ice

    From award related strife
    To wonderful slices of life
    Everything is of consequence
    On Arunima’s Silent Eloquence

From Bangalore to Mumbai he was hurled
But he still reaches out to the world
And be the matter amusing or bemusing
Kavi will give it a trademark musing

An amazing blogger from Down Under
Whose radicalism can tear you asunder
Jolt you, yet humour you, if anyone can
    That’d be Orhan Kahn

Sarcastic to the point of being misanthropic
With a humour, that’ll always be chic
For the best portrayal of life’s colors and hues
    Visit my buddy Saltwater Blues

This damn list reminded me of the kind of menu cards I hate. The ones with about 20 awesome chocolate desserts, and i can manage only a measly seven.

until next time, i really wanted to tag this guy too 😉

wonderful to see that a lot of my league members are getting hot and sizzled up – started with blues, then it was w-bug and now its simon..and ahem,(just for the old trumpet’s sake) readers please note that mera number aaaya tha, but no, i am not getting in to the ‘been there, done that’ spiel, my ego will not permit it…hehe
but damn, am i a lucky charm or what!!…no i am not, :), coz they are extraordinary bloggers anyway and linked by a lot of others. which is why i believe that rediff’s modus operandi of classification, if they do follow any, is totally devoid of bias, and certainly not like what happens in ToI…hehe..plus, i can truly rely on it as a source for my league additions, more often than not…’hot and sizzling’..i like this kinda blogal warming…:)
but (yeah, unfortunately, theres always a but), on a more general level, i do hope that the ‘blog’ kind of social interaction does not go the way that everything else seems to be going..getiing a price tag attached…. some time ago, i would have laughed if someone told me that i would be buying packaged drinking water, now i fully believe that oxygen and feelings that i consider beyond the range of money like love, hate and many others , will become fully commercialised by the time i see 2010….
and therefore why should blogging be any different?.. it is only a matter of time before some ass clowns realise the commercial value of a weblog..and if we say that ultimately we can stop it because we are the users, i wouldnt agree coz the same holds true for water…
but yes, we can try, and so guys, on june 9th, international bloggers day, let us try to keep the grass green, the sky blue and the air free in our virtual community, burn the commercialisation bridge when we come to it and preserve blogalisation in the free form it enjoys now….
    in manuscrypts trivia
    another good fwd,
We all know those cute little computer symbols called “emoticons”,
    where:
    🙂 means a smile and
    🙁 is a frown.
Sometimes these are represented by 🙂 and 🙁 respectively.
Well, how about some “assicons”? Here goes:
    (_!_) a regular ass
    (__!__) a fat ass
    (!) a tight ass
    (_*_) a sore ass
    {_!_} a swishy ass
(_o_) an ass that’s been around
    (_x_) kiss my ass
    (_X_) leave my ass alone
    (_zzz_) a tired ass
    (_E=mc2_) a smart ass
(_$_) Money coming out of his ass
    (_?_) Dumb Ass

till next time, keep the faith and the blogal harmony….
P.S. hope archies doesnt release a card for international webloggers day!!
and please use Post Scrypts and not the rediff comments box
