Bot my grandpas expired when my parents were kids but I somehow feel, every generation would have had their share of profanities.
It might have been something else but I am sure they existed.
I have seen some elders swear on their grand children too. Why take the blame on ourselves? 🙂 -
I tend to agree with arunima. i remember overhearing my uncle swearing at someone and i was most scandalized

hey,
well i believe the gap will always remain!
I find the gap existing in the kinda of swear words being used by us and the yonger lot itself!!
But each generation will have its own profanities and which is bound to be different from the generation coming next! -
Hmm…. Ekta said it!
And generations will keep on re-inventing some!! -
i m sure my grand-children will have words that we have never heard of. But I will not stay behind to give them a dose of my own 😉

thinking..Maybe they used village cuss words so i didnt realise..no, cant recall them swearing, although my grand mom had a great temper and was pithy with her words.
maybe with age it goes- i swear a lot less then i used to ten yrs ago..and it has to be a major major evnt to make me swear.

arunima: i’m sure some did, but was it a common thing ?
cynic: but that would be a rare occurence?
-
ekta: that they will, but i am talking of the regularity of usage..
stone: yup, like everything else..
-
raghav: retro profanities might be fun, you know..
austere: does it actually go with age.. on the contrary if it is a habit, it would be difficult to get rid of,na?
