Kalyan Nagar is a favoured food hangout and Float got into our list when we had made the trek that side for Wanderers<\/a>. While that place didn’t curry any favour with us thanks to its obsession with curry leaves, we live on hop and cannot resist a microbrewery!<\/p>\n

Float is spread across some four floors, each of which seemed to have multiple sections! How do these places break even, and when?! We sat on the first floor, next to pretty windows that overlooked the road. High seats, which bordered on uncomfortable.<\/p>\n

We began with a Q’mulus and a Sunset. The first was pale with underlying flavours of banana, spice and bubblegum! An odd mix, but D liked it. Sunset was more crisp, a tad bitter and delivered me a zing thanks to the citrus. In addition to those glasses, we also tried the Kimchi soup in a cup. The weather was a perfect excuse, but we’re actually suckers for most Korean food! The soup was hot, spicy and fantastic and did an excellent job of clearing my sinuses! The cup is a good option when you don’t want to fill your stomach, but yet want a taste.<\/p>\n

Pork Chengdu dumplings were next. The pork was well cooked, though I missed the spice in the beginning. But soon, the hot Sichuan sauce hit me, followed soon after by chillies! Our second round of beer, courtesy Zomato Gold, arrived soon. We asked if the Limited Edition Coorgi Oink Pie was available. Sadly, it wasn’t. A good time to note that if you like pork, this place has a fair amount of options! Meanwhile, we settled on a Char-grilled Chicken Liver, which neither gave us joy or grief.<\/p>\n

We did find a couple of dessert options interesting, but were too stuffed. The wallet was lighter by about Rs.1350, which wasn’t bad at all. The service was friendly and prompt, and the ambience versatile enough for lively and peaceful to co-exist. If you’re around these parts, it’s worth a visit.<\/p>\n

Float, the microbrewery in Kalyan Nagar, is a place you can safely visit, unlike its unrelated namesake in Marathahalli. More than the craft beer though, it is the food that makes it interesting. The highlight for us was the Kimchi soup. If you like pork, this is a place that will give you a bunch of options from across cuisines.
