The last time we were in Koramangala 100 ft Road, a fancy crane without any accompanying construction work caught our attention. Turned out to be an accessory for Brooks and Bonds, which I later realised was a microbrewery. So we absolutely had to plan a trip. One fine, windy Sunday, we did just that. The place has an industrial theme with the beer making process also becoming part of the decor. The elements include everything from meters, gauges and wheels to construction equipment.\u00a0All of this is apparently spread through three floors and a rooftop though we could only manage to see one, since we were told the rooftop (and presumably the other areas) were open only in the evenings. We sat outside and had to manage with a standard table until we got those high stool ones along the edge that gave us a nice view of the Koramangala skyline.<\/p>\n

From the beer menu, we chose a Mango Cider and a Hefeweizen. Zomato has a 2+2 offer on drinks here, and we were hoping to try a different beer as the second drink. Most places have done that for us in the past, but the folks were quite adamant that it they would only serve the same beer. To top it, I was also asked for an id proof.<\/p>\n

The Hefeweizen, I think, wasn’t fresh and that gave it a mild sour after taste beyond its expected yeasty one. The Cider had a distinct mango flavour which gave it a mildly sweet finish. We also asked for a Pork Chili Pepper and a Pachi Mirapakaya Kodi. Both had well cooked meat, and were at the right spice levels – the first with chili and the second with masala – to make them good beer companions.<\/p>\n

There weren’t really many exciting options in the main course, so we settled on a Pesto Chicken Roasted Pepper Pizza. We made it work with some Tabasco help. Our original plan was to go to Bundar nearby and have a monster shake, but we were stuffed enough to skip that and try a Gulab Jamun cheesecake. I quite liked it though D got a slightly bitter after taste.<\/p>\n

The bill came to a little less than Rs.1600. The soundtrack was excellent, and so was the ambience. The service was friendly but not very accommodating. If you’re in Koramangala, you might want to drop\u00a0by for a drink, especially in the evening. The ambiance would definitely be worth it.<\/p>\n
