The whole thought originated from Guess Who’s Kochi Biennale work<\/a>. Classic Banksy style graffiti, but the fantastic Malayali touch is what really drew me to it. (no pun intended!) For instance, you wouldn’t be able to appreciate this<\/a>, if you didn’t know this<\/a>. A bunch of ideas immediately popped up in my head, and I chose the pop culture phenomenon that’s among the favourites. The timing was good, since we were in the process of finalising a home. But though I had begun the process long before we shifted, (in April) I just couldn’t find someone who could visualise what I had thought up. That was until late last year, when L introduced me to the folks who run Cupick<\/a>, who in turn found me KRACK’N<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Agni and Gaurav immediately got what I had in mind, and in fact, made it much better. The result is this 6′ x 4′. \ud83d\ude42 (Click on the image for a larger size)<\/p>\n

A fictional battle in a fictional universe. This is a fight that never happened, but I’d have loved to see it. So we made our own ‘Thrilla in Kerala’. \ud83d\ude00 A kallu<\/em> (toddy) shop version of the Mos Eisley Cantina<\/a>, with a bunch of detailing. The menu, the picture of the boat, (check out the rowing crew) \u00a0the theyyam<\/em> style art on Vader’s costume, Yoda’s Velichappadu<\/em> anklets and kalari<\/em> shield, the overturned bench that’s usually the first casualty in a toddy shop fight, were all thought up by Agni and Gaurav from my initial thought of a standard kalaripayattu<\/em> fight between the two.<\/p>\n
