A work situation reminded me of the challenges to one’s sense of morality. While I had written earlier on the professional aspect of that, this is a more personal take on how I have been faring while navigating with a moral compass.
I tried a deep dive into understanding what would make me happy, and it took me to interesting (and uncomfortable) places. The good news is that I have identified the problem, though I am not yet sure about the solution.
Self image has at least factors affecting it – one’s abilities, and the acknowledgement one seeks. The latter, especially when one understands others don’t see him/her that way. Where does it go from there?
Travel, to me, and specially in the recent past, has been a way not just to journey to new places, but inward too. The last year has been a watershed on both counts, more so the latter. There are definitely miles to go, but I believe that I have made some advances on traveling light.
