Forum Shantiniketan hadn’t really impressed us with its dining options, so we were a bit circumspect. But the microbrewery delivered on all counts – ambiance, beer, food, service and music, and after a long while, we now have a place in these parts we don’t mind repeating!
This was our fourth attempt at finding a good eatery in Forum Shantiniketan. Thanks to a Sangria disaster, this too wasn’t anything to write home about. To be fair, the food wasn’t too bad, and the ambiance was pleasant enough, so if you’re in the mood for Portuguese food, and feeling adventurous, give it a shot.
There is a certain level and consistency of craft and service that one has come to expect from a Smokehouse Deli. This outlet plays a couple of notches lower. The food and drinks we had- sangria, sausage platter, risotto – wasn’t bad. If you’re in the mall, you could drop by, but for this cuisine, I think our favourite continues to be Toscano.
Uno Chicago Bar & Grill is famous for its deep dish pizzas, and that they indeed deliver with pizzazz! If you’re into pizzas, this is definitely a must try. But be prepared for a lighter wallet, as a meal for two with alcohol will easily cost you well over Rs.2000.
Punjab Grill is on the ground floor of the Forum Shantiniketan mall. The food is tasty, and the service exemplary. But as one would expect, the pricing is exorbitant. A meal for two with just a starter, bread, mains and lassi cost us a little over Rs.2500. For when you’re on splurge mode!
