The Sovereign Individual
A really good book if you want to get an understanding of the system of the world. It was published in 1997 and from how its projections have panned out, it is also a prediction machine. But its beauty lies in the explanations behind these predictions, and that makes it equally relevant for the future too.
Objectivity, and the path to joy
Are we really objective when evaluating our own happiness? Maybe if one were really responding to a need, and not a want (driven by social validation or self image), one would be in the moment, and experience joy.
Biere Societee
Whitefield continues to play host to new breweries, this one is opposite Prestige Shantiniketan. We visited in August, so the brewery should be up by now. Even if it isn’t, go there for the rooftop, friendly service and some excellent spicy food.
The Ministry of Utmost Happiness
The review of this book on my various social feeds had disappointed me, but fortunately, the book didn’t. Broadly, the book is about the forgotten people who are trampled as the world grinds forward on the path of progress. It is everything that Roy writes about in non-fiction, but framed in fiction for a change. Firmly favourited.
