The Old Fashioned Bar, I thought, was just a good name. Turned out, it had a serious focus on Old Fashioned, my favourite drink – more than a dozen options to choose from. Relaxed ambiance, good drinks, decent food and service, and cocktails outside of the standard kind makes this a good place to visit.

XOOX tries to balance an old world elegance with a modern lounge feel, and succeeds in parts. The brews go beyond the standard fare available elsewhere, and the food menu has some interesting options as well. But the skeptic in me remains unconvinced, so best visit quickly before a downslide begins.

A microbrewery on the Intermediate Ring Road in Koramangala. What’s new, you ask? An industrial theme with the beer making process made to be an intrinsic part of the decor. Excellent ambiance, below average beer and some good beer-companion grub. No lasting bonds here.

Vapour Brewpub and Diner (Sarjapur Road)

Only a microbrewery can compel me to take a trip to Sarjapur Road. But for the third time in a row, this sort of trip to that area turned out to be a waste of time. Meh beer and horrendous service screwed up a decent ambiance. The only consolation was some good beef.
