Kunigarga

A powerful sage, who created a maiden with his spiritual energy and then underwent samadhi. The maiden began to meditate and didn’t like the idea of marriage. She became old and became known as vridhakanyaka in the Mahabharata. She wished to attain moksha, but Narada reached there and told her that unmarried women couldn’t attain salvation. She gave half of her spiritual energy to a sage named Shringavan and made him her husband for a night, and thus attained moksha as per Mahabharata Shalyaparva Chapter 52.
