Kumbhipaka

One of the 28 narakas. Kumbhipaka is the naraka for those who kill and eat other living beings. There are huge vats of hot oil here and those who end up in this naraka are immersed and pulled out these vats alternately. This lasts for as many years as the number of hairs on the dead beings’ bodies as per Devibhagavata Ashtamaskanda.

Kumbhinadi

The daughter born to Sumali and Ketumati. She was abducted by the king of Mathura, named Madhupa. He was killed by Ravana and others.

A minister of Banasura. Banasura’s daughter Usha was a friend of Kumbhanda’s daughter Chitralekha as per Bhagavata Dashamaskanda.
