One of the 28 narakas. Kumbhipaka is the naraka for those who kill and eat other living beings. There are huge vats of hot oil here and those who end up in this naraka are immersed and pulled out these vats alternately. This lasts for as many years as the number of hairs on the dead beings’ bodies as per Devibhagavata Ashtamaskanda.

A daughter born to Vishwavasu and Anala. A rakshasa named Madhu abducted and then married her and their son was Lavanasura.
