You’re not supposed to be here, you know? But now that you are, hello. 🙂 I assume you have some interest in Hindu mythology, or you have been drinking and mistyped something on Google. If you’re the latter, try not to dirty the place.
If you’re interested in Hindu mythology, this is a little project I’m doing on the sly, for various reasons. My intentions are pretty noble, I’d say – most of the sources I refer to, for Hindu mythology don’t exist online. I have this huge fear that after this generation, no one would be interested in the characters, places and stories that have made 2 epic works of literature (and philosophy) and even if they were, they wouldn’t have many resources online to refer to. The idea here is to add to the resources that already exist online, on this subject, so that these stories would live on. I’ve started this only in May 2010, and at the current rate, will look to complete this latest by 2015. I’m categorising this alphabetically for now, and when I finish typing it all in, I’ll get on to categorising in other ways, and linking.
The epic scale might make some of you go LoL. Works the same for me too – a Labour of Love 😉 Dedicated to my grandmother, the first and best storyteller I have known, and one who instilled in me a love for mythology that even time hasn’t been able to dim.
Thanks for dropping by.
Excellent work my friend…I remember how so many tales were discussed and referred to when I was a kid and lived in Himalayas..sometimes the “sadachar tales” and myths became part of value structure, and sometime they challenged the rationale and confused..the truth is , though, that I am mighty proud of our Puranas, 2 Epics and Vedas. Somewhere, the pagan worshippers in sync with 5 elements have turned to Casteists, orthodox and intolerant. I hope by opening up the texts to the world and thereby saving them, you are also communicating the right image..keep up the good work..cheers!
