The shadow of Vishwakarma’s daughter Sanjna. Sanjna’s children with Surya were Manu, Yama, Yami. When she could not stand her husband’s heat, she made a shadow of herself called Chhaya, and wothout informing Surya, left for her father’s house. Surya and Chhaya had 3 children – Savarnamanu, Shani, Tapati. She loved her children more and once Yama almost kicked her. She cursed that he would lose his leg and he complained to Surya. He blessed that flesh from Yama’s leg would fall off and be eaten by worms and Yama would escape. He then turned to Chhaya and his gaze frightened her so much that she blurted out everything. Surya left her and brought back Sanjna as per Harivansh Chapter 9, Vishnupurana Ansh 3 Chapter 2.
