A king born in Dhruva’s dynasty.
Antecedents: Vishnu – Brahma – Swayambhuvamanu – Uttanapada – Dhruva – Shishti – Ripu – Chakshusha – Chakshushamanu – Kuru.
Kuru was an ancestor of the famous king Vena and the emperor Pridhu. Kuru had ten brothers – Puru, Ooru, Shatadyumna, Tapasvi, Satyavak, Shuchi, Agnishtu, Athiratha, Sudyumna, Abhimanyu. Kuru had seven sons from his wife Aatreyi – Anga, Sumanas, Swati, Kritu, Angiras, Gaya, Shibi. Anga married Sunidha and their son was Vena. Vena’s son was Pridhu. To Pridhu was born Antardhana, Vadi, Suta, Magadha, Palita. Antardhana married Shikhandini and their son was Havirdhana. Havirdhana in turn married Dhishna and their six sons were Prachinabarhis, Shukra, Gaya, Krishna, Vrija, Ajina as per Vishnupurana Ansh 1 Chapter 13.
