A gandharva and son of Nalanabha, chief of the vidyadharas. As per Markandeyapurana Chapter 60, Indivaraksha approached Brahmamitra to learn Ayurveda. He refused, but Indivaraksha decided to learn by watching the guru teach other students. He managed to do that for six months and, overjoyed at having been able to learn so much, shouted it out. The guru understood the situation and cursed that he would become a rakshasa in 7 days. He begged for forgiveness and the guru said that when he was struck by arrows from his own children he would regain his form. Later, when he tried to eat his own daughter Manorama, his son in law Swarochis, who had learned archery from her, defeated him, and thus he regained his original form. Indivaraksha then imparted to Swarochis the knowledge of archery he had learned from Brahmamitra.
