The son of Jayatsena, a Puruvanshi king, and his wife Shushra, the princess of Vidarbha. Avachina had a son named Arihara, with his wife, Maryada, also a princess of Vidarbha, as per Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 95 verses 17-18.
