Avantivansh

One of the Yaduvanshi dynasties. Brahma – Atri – Chandra – Budha – Pururavas – Ayus – Nahusha – Yayati – Yadu. Yadu had five sons – Sahasrajit, Nilanjika, Raghu, Kroshtu, Shatajit. Sahasrajit had 3 sons – Haihaya, Renuhaya and Shatajit. Haihaya – Dharmanetra – Saha – Mahima – Bhadrasena – Durgama – Kanaka. Kanaka had 4 sons – Kritavirya, Kritagni, karavira, Kritaujas. Kartaviryarjuna was the son of Kritavirya. Kartaviryarjuna became the ruler of all the world, and was invincible in battle, thanks to his thousand arms. He conducted 10000 yajnas, and this ensured that his subjects needed only to think of him to prevent damage to their self or property. Other kings, despite their yajnas, acts of charity, meditation or weapons, could not equal him. Kartaviryarjuna had a hundred sons, among whom Surasena, Shura, Dhrishta, Kushna and Jayadhwaja were the most famous. Jayadhwaja eventually became king, and his son was Talajankha. Talajankha had many sons and the Haihaya dynasty split into five – Bhojavansh, Avantivansh, Vitihotravansh, Swayamjatavansh, Shaundikeyavansh, as per Agnipurana Chapter 275.
