Alankaravati

The wife of King Naravahanadatta. Her story is told by a Vidyadhari as per Kathasaritasagara. A vidyadhara named Alankarashila ruled over Srisundarapura in the Himalayas. He had a wife named Kanchanaprabha. He named their son Dharmashila, since he had a dream in which the devi Kartyayini said his son would be a paragon of justice. Dharmashila was eventually made crown prince, and his subjects liked him even more than they did his father. Kanchanaprabha later gave birth to a daughter and it was foretold that she would be the wife of Naravahanadatta. She was named Alankaravati. Her father taught her well and when she became older, she traveled to various Shiva temples. While on this tour, a divine voice told her that if she visited the Swayambhu temples in Kashmir, she would get married to Naravahanadatta. She did so, and was eventually married to him, as per Kathasaritasagara Lambaka 9 Taranga 1.
