This was the name of a curse given to the king Janamejaya, by Sarama, the dog of the devas. Parikshit’s son Janamejaya once conducted a huge yajna at Kurukshetra with his brothers. At that time, Sarama’s son reached the place, but was driven away by Janamejaya’s brothers. Sarama approached Janamejaya and said that since her son had not soiled the yajna in any way, but had been still punished, Janamejaya would suffer from Adrishtabhaya. After the yajna, Janamejaya approached the sage Somashravas and managed to have the curse revoked.
