Chiradata

A king of Chirapura who had a bad set of advisors. Once a man named Prasanga took refuge with him with a couple of his friends. But he ignored them thanks to his advisors and this continued for 5 years. Then one of his sons died and all the advisors wept crocodile tears. Prasanga and friends arrived there and said that they had lived in the hope that at least the son would take heed of them, but they were leaving since that hope had also been dashed. The king thought that he should give something for them since they had kept the child in mind and finally gave them wealth and grains as per Kathasaritasagara Alankaravatilambaka Taranga 5.
