Chamasotbheda

A holy place in Saurashtra that’s a part of Vinashana. Saraswati, who had once disappeared, was found here, and bathing here gives one the effect of an Agnishtoma yajna as per Mahabharata Vanaparva Chapter 82 verse 112.

Chamasa

Bharata’s younger brother, a yogi. Bharata was born in the dynasty of Priyavrata, a descendant of Manu. Bharata, the country is named after him. He had nine brothers – Kushavarta, Ilavarta, Brahmavarta, Aryavarta, Malaya, Bhadraketu, Sena, Indrasprik, Keekata. In addition to this, he had another nine brothers from a step mother, called Navayogis. One of them was Chamasa. The others were Kavi, Hari, Ambarisha, Prabudha, Pippalayana, Avirhotra, Dramida, Karabhajana, as per Bhagavata Navamaskanda.

Chamari

A kind of animal whose tail is its specialty. It is believed that when it moves around in the forest, if its tail gets stuck. It is said that the if its tail gets stuck in a place, it will wait there until it gets unstuck on its own. Kashyapa and Krodhavasha had ten daughters – Mrigi, Mrigamanda, Hari, Bhadramada, Matangi, Sharduli, Shweta, Surasa, Surabhi, Kadru. From Mrigamanda were born Chamaris and Srimaras as per Ramayana Aranyakanda Sarga 14.
