Chandrasharma (1)

A sinner who killed his guru. As per Padmapurana 4 sinners -Vidura, Chandrasharma, Vedasharma, Vanjula bathed in the Ganga and redeemed themselves. Their sins were brahmahatya, guruhatya, agamyagamana, govadha respectively. Vidura was their leader. He had given up his brahminical symbols and had taken to begging. He announced that he had killed brahmins when he asked for alms. He also traveled to all the theerthas during this journey but his brahmahatya sin stayed with him. He was agonised by this when a brahmin named Chandrasharma arrived there. He had hurt his guru and was hated by his peers and relatives. He was ahring his story when a third brahmin arrived there. This was Vedasharma and he had committed agamyagamana and was disowned by his friends and family. THen arrived Vanjula, a vaishya who was a drunkard and had killed cows. As per a sage’s advice, they bathed in the Ganga and washed away their sins, according to Padmapurana Chapter 91.
