A name for Vishnu. There is a place named Gaya to the north of the mountain Kalanjara, south of Himavan, east of Kushasthali and west of Vasupura. Here, a king named Gaya once conducted the ashwamedha, manushyamedha and mahamedha yajnas. He was guarded by Vishnu in a hazy form, carrying a gada (mace). Thus he got the name Gadadhara as per Vamanapurana Chapter 76.
