The grandson of Vaivaswatamanu and the son of Prasandhi. He was the father of Ikshvaku. After his death, he shone in Yama’s court as per Mahabharata Sabhaparva Chapter 8. He got a sword from Vaivaswatamanu as per Mahabharata Shantiparva Chapter 166. He ate meat as per Mahabharata Anushasanaparva Chapter 159 verse 67.
