On the four sides of Meru, there are different mountains. One of them is Kumuda, the others are Mandara, Merumandara, Suparsha as per Bhagavata Panchamaskanda. In addition, there are twenty mountains – Kuranga, Karaga, Kushumbha, Vikangata, Trikuta, Shishira, Patanga, Ruchaka, Nila, Nishadha, Sheetivasa, Kapila, Shankha, Vaidurya, Charudhi, Hamsa, Rishabha, Naga, Kalanjara, Narada, as per Devibhagavata Ashtamaskanda.

Kumaripuja
A special ceremony carried out during navaratripuja. A two year old girl is worshiped during this. It is supposed to be carried out with great pomp and celebrations. The age is not a strict creiterion. Two year old girls are called Kumaris, 3 are called Trimurtis, 4 Kalyani, 5 Rohini, 6 Kali, 7 Chandika, 8 Shambhavi, 9 Durga and 10 Subhadra.
