A kind of tree that grew on the banks of the Yamuna which has been mentioned in Kaliyamardana. Because of Kaliya’s venom, all the trees on the banks of the Yamuna died and the wings of birds that flew overhead were scorched. As per the Bhagavata only one tree survived all this. According to Bhagavata Dashamaskanda, Garuda rested on this tree while he was returning from devaloka with the amrit. Some of the amrit fell on the tree and hence it was unaffected by Kaliya’s venom.
