The wife of Suhotra, son of the emperor Bhumanyu. Suhotra and Aikshvaki had 3 sons – Ajameedha, Sumeedha, Purumeedha as per Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 94.

Ekadashi

The eleventh day of the lunar month. A fast on this day considered spiritually important. Ambarish did this to become an Indra as per Bhagavata Navamaskanda. The Agnipurana provides details on how to conduct an Ekadashi fast.

Elaputra

A naga born to Kashyapa and Kadru. It was known to be intelligent. Once Vinata said that the tail hairs of Indra’s horse Uchaishravas were all white, Kadru maintained that it was black. It was agreed that whoever lost would become the other’s slave. As per Kadru’s instructions, a few nagas clung to the horse’s tail and made it appear black. Vasuki and a few others refused to support this and Kadru cursed that they would die in Janamejaya’s sarpasatra. A meeting was called by Vasuki, Shesha and others on how to avoid this. Elaputra made a long speech on this occasion as per Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 38.

Eraka

A snake born in the Kaurava clan. It was killed in Janamejaya’s sarpasatra as per Mahabharata Adiparva Chapter 57 verse 16.

Etasha (1)

A sage praised in the Rigveda. This sage was attacked by the son of a king named Sashwa, and he was rescued by Indra as per Rigveda Mandala 1 Anuvaka 11 Sukta 62.

Ekananga

A daughter of Yashoda, and a sister of Krishna. As per the Mahabharata Sabhaparva Chapter 38, she was also a reason for Krishna killing Kamsa.
