Agnishvatha

This deva is one of the sapta pitrs. According to the Mahabharata Sabhaparva Chapter 11, verse 44-46, the sapta pitrs are Vairaja, Agnishvatha, Garhapatya, Somapa, Ekashringa, Chaturveda, Kala, the first 3 of whom do not have bodies. The Agnipurana Chapter 20 also mentions that Agnishvatha is born of Brahma.

Ten sons were born to Manu and his wife Nagdhvala – Ooru, Puru, Shatadyumna, Tapasvi, Satyavak, Kavi, Agnishtu, Athirathra, Sudyumna, Atimanyu according to Agnipurana Chapter 18.

According to Mahabharata Vanaparva Chapter 221 verse 95, two children were born to Bhanu, an agni, and his third wife Sasi – Agni and Soma. Together they were called Agnishoma.

Agnishaucha

After leaving Damayanti, Nala was walking through the jungle when he was bitten by the snake, Karkodaka, and transformed into an ugly person. According to Kathasaritasagara, Alankaravatilambaka, taranga 6, the snake then gave Nala, a blanket called Agnishaucha, which when worn, would transform him back.
